Varsity Girls - Class AAA #1 and US #6 Assumption is in the house for the Male Invitational, but they are sitting the top 20 girls out for this one. The rest are scheduled to compete in the JV race (4K.) There is an outside possibility they move up to the varsity. Class A #3 Holy Cross will be sitting their top seven girls as well.
All that being said, the favorites to win look like a battle between Lauren Bennett and Savanna Heckman from Male and Rebecca Facktor of Ballard. This group has flip-flopped this season. Bennett beat Facktor last week at the Greater Louisville Classic, but Heckman has beaten Bennett twice this season herself. This should be a close one. Male is the winning team, unless Assumption runs up. If that happens watch out for Laurean Loehnert and Ashley Haupt.
