Houchens and Miller Named KIAC Athletes of the Week

 

 

Austin Houchens, Berea College – Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

Junior – Bowling Green, KY

Berea College junior Austin Houchens was named the KIAC men’s cross country runner of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 17th. Berea College hosted the Judge Wilson Invitational on September 15th. Houchens set a course record in the 5 mile event with a time of 26:20. He finished in the top position out of 68 runners. The Berea College men’s team finished the event in first place. The Mountaineers will return to action on September 29th at the Greater Louisville Invitational.

 

 

Kim Miller, Asbury University – Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

Freshman – Harlan, KY

Asbury University freshman Kim Miller was named the KIAC women’s cross country runner of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 17th.  This is her third runner of the week award of the season. Asbury University competed in the Friendship Invitational at Cedarville University on September 15th. Miller ran a personal best in the 5k in a field that included several top 25 NAIA teams and NCAA Division II Cedarville. The freshman runner finished 11th out of 128 runners with a time of 19:21. The Eagles will return to action on September 29th at the Greater Louisville Classic.
