Erico Smith, senior at Spencer County has signed to play football at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia. He will also compete for the track team at Lindsey Wilson. Last spring, Smith dominated the sprint scene in Class AA winning a Kentucky State Championship in the 100m Dash with a time of 10.96. He was also runner-up in the 200m Dash with a personal best time of 22.41. It is no surprise a school would be interested in Smith with his speed on the football field.
Erico said, “I choose Lindsey Wilson because the coaches are great they have a real interest in winning on the field and competing in the classroom which I respect. I think have amazing facilities to be a small college. But I really just wanted to be a part of something special and being a part of a start team will be exciting for me. What we do is going to lay the foundation for future teams” when asked about Lindsey Wilson.
For his career he rushed for 1,926 yards and had 705 yards on Kick-off and Punt Returns.
