Below you will find Week 4 of the KYtrackXC.com Athletes of the Week.  Any former Kentucky high school track athlete is eligible for the weekly college award regardless of whether or not the school is located in Kentucky.

 

High School Girls

 

Ann Eason – Sayre

 

 

Eason, a senior at Sayre won the 1600m Run at the Ohio State University HS Invitational #2 with a time of 5:18.36.  She also placed second in the 800m Run with a new personal best time of 2:25.89.  Both times currently lead the state for the 2011 Indoor Track season.

 

 

High School Boys

 

Cain Cooper – Henderson County

 

 

Cooper, a freshmen at Henderson County won the Pole Vault at the Henderson County Pole Vault Meet with a new best vault of 12-06.  His mark currently leads the state of Kentucky.

 

 

 

College Women

 

Kim Grieshaber – University of Louisville

 

 

Grieshaber, a Woodford County product went sub 17 in the 5K for the first time in her career running a 16:56.04 to place 5th in at the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame.  Her time ranks her 4th overall in the Big East Conference and top 50 nationally.

 

 

College Men

 

Elliott Mattingly – Bellarmine University

 

 

Mattingly, a Bardstown product was 4th in the Weight Throw at the Hoosier Invitational with nearly a career best toss of 56-02.50.  His throw ranks top 40 nationally in Division II.

 

 

 

Middle School Girls

 

Tori Phillips – Rockcastle County Middle School

 

 

Phillips, a seventh grader won the 55m Dash with a time of 8.51 at the KTCCCA Indoor Meet.  She also tied her career best in the High Jump of 4-02 with a victory in that event as well. 

 

 

Middle School Boys

 

Caleb Cox – Pulaski County Middle School

 

 

Cox, an 8th grader competing for Pulaski County won four events at the KTCCCA Indoor Saturday.  He won the Triple Jump with a mark of 34-08.75, High Jump at 5-00, Long Jump with a leap of 15-05 and the 55m Dash with a time of 7.48.
