Jake Wildenmann, senior at Trinity High School in Louisville has committed to run at the University of Kentucky next year. Wildenmann was the Class AAA Kentucky State Cross Country Meet Runner-up this past fall in a 1-2 showdown race that was named the #6 performance for 2010 by KYtrackXC.com. He ran a new best time of 15:21 for the 5000 Meter Run to win the Tiger Run this past August.
When asked why he chose UK, Wildenmann said, “The team, coaches, school, and location really made it the best possible choice for me. Everything seemed to fit well. I have confidence in the program and I am excited to be able to help build it to prominence.”
Last June he won the Emerging Elite Mile at New Balance Outdoor Nationals with a time of 4:19.40. He chose UK over the University of Louisville and Dayton.
