Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic
Unofficially it has been reported to KYtrackXC.com that Daviess County’s Evan Ehreheim has won with a smoking 15:17 in Memphis. This is a 40 second improvement from the 15:57 he ran last year.
1st Annual Midwest Catholic Cross Country Championships
Covington Catholic, Holy Cross (Louisville), and Sacred Heart all traveled north to Kettering, Ohio. The state of Kentucky returns home with two victories as Emma Brink (Sacred Heart) fresh off a victory at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational won with an 18:22 for the 5K course. She cruised to the win beating second place by 29 seconds. Sacred Heart finished fourth overall.
Jacob Thomson of Holy Cross, coming off a big time PR last week of 15:17 won the Catholic Championship with a 15:41. His teammate, Dominic Perronie finished sixth with a 16:03.
Adidas Saturday Night Lights 5
Class A #2 ranked Kaitlin Snapp of Danville placed second overall with a 18:27 in the Championship Race. Notre Dame finished 4th overall as a team led by Mary List’s 12th finish with a 19:35.
Class AAA #3 Butler finished fourth overall as a team led by Tretez Kinnaird’s 7th place with a 16:27. Zac Holtkamp of Bishop Brossart was Kentucky’s top finisher in 6th place with a 16:25.
Palatine Invitational
The ladies of Assumption traveled north to Illinois. The Class AAA #2 ranked team finished sixth overall for the 3 Mile course. Senior Ashley El Rady was 14th overall with an 18:07. Freshman Emily Bean was 20th in 18:18, while junior Caroline McCaslin was 21st with an 18:19.
Rio Grande Invitational
Ashland Blazer’s Jon Renneker won the Red Race with a 16:42, winning by five seconds. His teammate Brennan Kizziar was ninth with a 17:34. Class A #1 Fairview finished second overall as a team on the girls side in the Red race. Lyndsey Burke was fourth in 21:03 and Haley Layne was seventh with a 21:18.
