Anytime one of the top runners in the state is competing, people get hyped up for it.  Coming off a win last week at the Kenwood Classic in Clarksville, Tennessee, Christian County’s Sean Hurd definitely brought it on Saturday as he won with a 16:52.  Time aside, the fact he beat Apollo’s Justin House by 26 seconds is the news of the day.  House finished 2nd overall in 17:18, helping to lead Apollo to the team victory.  Apollo placed eight in the top sixteen to win with 33 points.  Muhlenberg County was second overall led by freshman Chase Geary in 3rd place.  Class A #1 Owensboro Catholic finished third, five points back of Muhlenberg County.

 

Speaking of Muhlenberg County, they put the smack down in the girls race taking the first four places in the race.  Lindsey Mathis pulled off the win in 20:48, beating first year XC runner teammate Aliah Fueller.  Sisters Kaitlyn and Kristyn Hooper finished 3rd and 4th both crossing the line in ...
