KYTRACKXC.com has been informed that there has been a change to the schedule for the KHSAA Class 2A State Track and Field Championships for 2010. The scheduled date of Friday, June 4th has come under much scrutiny because of conflicts with graduations caused by excess snow days this winter. From a release sent by Commissioner Mike Barren:
After surveying all Kentucky High Schools as to their plans for graduation, it is clear that holding the 2A championships on Friday the 4th of June would put an extremely high number of schools in conflict with their graduations. With no schools having reported graduation ceremonies set for Thursday the 3rd of June,we have decided to move the 2A championships to Thursday the 3rd of June. Please be advised of the date change. We will follow this email with more detail as to the starting times for all events, as they become set.
Obviously, we want to clarify that this affects no other classes as both Class A and Class AAA will still take place as they did last year on that Saturday, June 5th.
