Trinity Valkyrie Invitational: Girls Preview

2023 Trinity Valkyrie Invitational

The 2023 Trinity Valkyrie Invitational will feature a collection of the best athletes from Kentucky and our surrounding states. The Girls seeded race is no exception. The Girls race features 3 different sub 18 performers and shows the potential to add a couple more to that list at the conclusion of the race.

The first athlete that needs mentioning is Tula Fawbush from Oldham County. The Senior set the Kentucky cross country world ablaze in August where she ran 17:32 at the Central Kentucky Run for the Gold. Last week, Fawbush came close to breaking the 18 minute barrier again when she broke the Rumble Through the Jungle course record. With the competition level being the highest she has faced this season, expect a massive effort from Fawbush Saturday.

The next athlete on the list is Samantha Erbach from Waynesville. The Senior has run three races this season improving each time she takes the course. She placed 2nd at last season's Ohio State Cross Country Championship and is looking for her first state title. With Fawbush in the race, Erbach should post her best effort this season.

The third athlete seeded on the list is Kaitlyn Stewart from Floyd Central. Stewart has already made the trek to Kentucky this season where she placed 3rd at Run for the Gold. She also ran at the STXXC Tiger Run where she beat Fawbush en route to her first win of the 2023 XC season. Her confidence this year is at an alltime high and given that she has already defeated Fawbush once this season, we should be in for a treat on Saturday.
