Marshall University High School Invitational 2023

In the distance events Covington Catholic's Will Sheets pulled off a solid double with a 4:18/9:14 for 1600m and 3200m which are 5th and 2nd in Kentucky when converted to 1 Mile/2Mile.  Noah Mathews (Paul Dunbar) and George Johnson (Conner) joined Sheets in the sub 4:25/9:25 with strong indoor doubles as well for 1600/3200m.  

The girls 1600m saw three girls join the Top 10 for Kentucky with Caroline Beiting of Lexington Catholic going sub 5 and Reagan Gilmore (Assumption) and Cate Conklin (Lexington Catholic) both under 5:05.  Beiting led a strong group of Kentucky girls in the 800m with a sub 2:17. Assumption four girls run sub 2:22 with Leah Penick 2:19, Mattie Whitworth 2:20, Elle Cargould 2:20 and Mabel George 2:21.  Looks like the 4x800m Relay is going to be rolling this year for the Rockets.  

Lillian Hodge (West Jessamine) and Abby Rexford (West Jessamine) had strong days in the Pole Vault flying over the bar at 12-00 and 11-06.

Roger Minton Early Indoor Track and Field Invite 2023

A couple of teams from Western Kentucky traveled to Marion, Illinois for an indoor meet.  Marshall County took over the #1 spot in the 4x800m Relay for Kentucky with an 8:18.27.  Just a reminder this is without three of their legs from the 2022 Class AAA State Championship team including some guy named Cade Flatt and Will Davis.  

McCracken County's Caleb Joyce opened indoor with a 14-00 for the Pole Vault which stands at #4 in Kentucky.
