This group has gone through so much this season that they deserve to win this title as penance for their efforts and abillity to adapt and overcome. Losing Jackson Carnes meant a single digit scorer was immediately out of the picture. Thomas Mann started the season in rough shape after dealing with a serious back injury, but has started to put it together again now and though he wasn’t seen at the regional meet, should be prepared to run this weekend. Austin Carter has stepped up to fill the role that the group has needed at the front, and along with Ian McCaslin, they may be able to get their top five in the top 30. Matt Hillenbrand is just another example of bad luck as he looked incredible early on, but at the Trinity Invitiational, suddenly he was in bad shape and that is one thing I never heard about, whether or not he was hurt or sick.
