Austin, TX -- The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) announced a partnership with MileSplit, a part of the FloSports network, enhancing MileSplit's longstanding partnership and support of the KHSAA. Kentucky high school cross country and track and field coaches, athletes, parents, and fans will have access to the most accurate and extensive collection of meet results, performance lists, athlete rankings, and content through the MileSplit database. MileSplit will officially become the exclusive online registration platform of the KHSAA.
Since its founding in 2001, MileSplit has been the definitive website for scholastic track and field registration, results and meet coverage in the United States. The MileSplit database contains more than 95 million individual athlete performances, making it the most comprehensive in the nation.
This partnership will continue to provide registration for all in-season events and post-season events as well as a complete results database. Furthermore, as a part of this collaboration, Milesplit and the KHSAA will be awarding two scholarships to graduating seniors around the state meet (both in cross country and track & field). Watch for the application for this scholarship to open sometime in early May and early October.
"We are excited to partner with the KHSAA in support of its high school athletes," MileSplit Vice President Editorial, Joe Battaglia said. "By leveraging our technology and sport expertise, we will continue to streamline meet registration, data management, and continue to grow the sport through our coverage. Everyone on our team exudes passion for cross country and track and field and, together with the KHSAA, we can't wait to grow the sport further in Kentucky."
Assistant KHSAA Commissioner, Sarah Bridenbaugh, said, "The KHSAA is excited to expand its partnership with Milesplit in support of Kentucky high school athletes and coaches. Milesplit will continue to promote and recognize outstanding accomplishments from across the Commonwealth in the sports of Track & Field and Cross Country, while providing numerous benefits to our membership including scholarships, meet registration, and results."
To provide governance and leadership to regulate and progressively administer the highest quality interscholastic athletic sports and sport-activities in an efficient manner, and promote the values of participation for all involved in education-based athletics and school-based sports. The KHSAA will work collaboratively with its member schools to recognize and promote the primary focus of high school academic success and college and career readiness for the student participants, risk minimization for all participants in the programs, and ensure the efficient administration of the education-based athletic program in the schools.
