The Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic, one of the top meets in the Southeast was held last night in Memphis, TN.  Several Kentucky athletes and teams fared really well at the meet showing the states improved quality and depth in cross country. 

 

Freshman Cassidy Hale (duPont Manual) fresh off a victory in the Junior Varsity Race at last week's Tiger Run made her varsity debut and it was sure a good one.  She won the entire race with a new best time of 18:46.26.  Manual's Sarah Barker finished 11th overall with a time of 19:55.96.  The girls of Manual finished second as a team with 73 points behind champion North Gwinnett.  The big thing to pay attention to is that duPont Manual senior Elizabeth Anderson is not in the results.  Coming off a 19:08 last week at Tiger Run, she would have possibly help catapult the ladies to the team win.
