A great indicator of what is to come for the upcoming cross country season is the performance of the athletes in the spring track season. Morgan County senior Kailee Perry is coming off a double state championship spring with the 800m and 1600m state titles in class A. She was the runner up in cross country to Selena Mattingly last fall and those two will dual again this fall with some added company of Gracie Wingler of Green County who was the class A 3200m state champion.

Not far off from Perry's leading mark is a trio of class AAA runners led by Jenna Strange of Tates Creek. Strange comes into the season with a 3rd place finish in the class AAA state cross country meet last year and duplicated that placement in the 3200m at the class AAA state track and field championship.
