9. Valesha Watson (Paducah Tilghman - Junior)
Watson's 2017 season was not near as successful as her freshman campaign that featured three state titles. In fact in 2016, Valesha was undefeated ALL SEASON (except one runner up finish in the 200m at the Murray All Comers). She took the 100m, 200m, and 400m state titles in class AA. The 2017 season started very much the same until April 29 when she lost in all three events at the Swift and Staley Midwest team Challenge. She bounced back at region and won three region titles. However, at the state meet she won the 100m and place third in the 200m and 400m. She comes into the season with the top returning mark in the 100m and 200m and second best in the 400m. We have not seen any indoor action in Kentucky, but she has competed out of state and run well. If she can return to freshman season form, watch for her to climb the rankings!
