KYtrackXC.com Athletes of the Week

In an effort to honor the top track and field performers from Kentucky, KYtrackXC.com will have a weekly set of Athletes of the Week.  There will be Middle School, High School, and College awardees.  Former Kentucky High School Track and Field athletes currently running in college are eligible for the College award, even if he or she attends a school out-of-state.

Girls 


Maria Frigo

St. Henry District High School

Frigo, a junior at St. Henry set two personal best times this past week in two different meets.  First on Tuesday she ran a 5:11.90 to win the 1600m at the Covington Diocese Meet.  Then on Saturday she ran a new best time while winning the 800m Run in 2:21.92.

 

Boys

Kyle Jenkins

Male

Jenkins, a junior at Male High School had a big PR in the Discus with a toss of 170-08 at the St. Xavier Invitational on Saturday.  His throw was a 14ft improvement from his previous best.  This toss ranks him #2 in the state. 

Middle School

MIDDLE SCHOOL OUTDOOR YEAR-END AWARDS WILL BE POSTED ON WEDNESDAY

Women

Amanda Johnson

Lindsey Wilson College

Johnson, a 2006 Union County graduate finished second in the 3000m Racewalk at the Cedarville Challenge Friday.  She finished with a time of 15:29.

 

Men

 

Michael Seaman

University of Tennessee

 

Seaman, a 2007 Bardstown graduate won the Pole Vault at the Smokey Mountain Twilight on Tuesday with a new best vault of 16-06.75.
