Normally we don’t see big time performances on Tuesday/Thursday meets but last night was very different. Two Kentucky athletes hit the MileSplit US First Team Elite Standard last night. Apollo sophomore Justin House lined up for the 800m Run at the Daviess County Freshman/Sophomore Meet. He went through the 400m mark at 56 seconds and held on to finish with a career best 1:54.93. This is currently #1 in Kentucky and #4 nationally for the Class of 2011.
The Twilight Relays were cancelled on Friday night which eliminated some of the teams that had to travel from over an hour away. Madisonville North Hopkins still made the trip and it is a good thing. Senior Jonathan Hood, yes that is this years Mr. Basketball who has signed to play basketball at the University of Kentucky, brought his best jumping a new best of 6-10 in the High Jump.
