Four Kentucky Track Athletes Sign Football Commitment Letters

Green, a senior at Male High School has signed to play football at the University of Illinois.  He rushed for 1,069 yards his senior football season and scored 10 touchdowns.  All this came after having one of the best Kentucky State Track Meets his junior year in which he won State Titles in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and anchored the 1600m Relay.  The door is open for him to run track at the University of Illinois.

Tim PhillipsCentral Michigan University

Phillips, a senior at Trinity High School has signed to play football at Central Michigan University.  He finished his career as the most celebrated running back in Trinity history. Phillips finished his career as the school’s all-time leading rusher with 4,587 yards and 76 touchdowns, running for at least 1,200 yards and 20 touchdowns in each of his three seasons in the Trinity backfield. He compiled 5,672 all-purpose yards. He is the only player to run for over 1,000 yards in three straight seasons under Bob Beatty.  He was the 2008 Class AAA State 100m Runner-up.  Phillips will be able to run track at Central Michigan.

Jordan Whiting Ohio State University

Whiting, a senior at Trinity High School has signed to play football at the Ohio State University.  He was honored as an All-American by Parade Magazine, MaxPreps and EASports/ESPN.

Whiting registered a career-best 18 tackles in the state semifinal win over St. Xavier and finished his senior campaign with 107 tackles. In his career, Whiting compiled 282 tackles, including 252 solo tackles. Whiting is one of two players that saw action as a freshman among the members of the graduating class of 2009. He became the first player in school history to play on four state championship teams.  He is a sprinter and thrower on the Trinity track team.

Larod King University of Kentucky

King, a senior at North Hardin High School has signed to play football at the University of Kentucky.  He is a sprinter and jumper of the North Hardin track team.
