COLUMBIA, Ky. - Dante Johnson is the Mid-South Conference Track Athlete of the Week while Desmond Mobley is the MSC Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Mobley earns his honor for the second-straight week and second time in his career, while Johnson picks up the weekly honor for the third time in his career and first time this season.
Johnson won all three track events he competed in at the Centre (Ky.) Invitational, breaking two meet records and securing one national "A" standard.
The sophomore from Radcliff, Kentucky was a part of the 4x100 meter relay team that won the event with a time of 41.79 seconds, breaking the previous meet record of 42.17 seconds.
Johnson then won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.86 seconds, beating the previous meet record of 15.06 seconds and securing his national standard.
Johnson completed his hat trick with a victory in the 400 meter dash, crossing the tape first out of 39 competitors with his time of 49.60 seconds.
Mobley collected two field event victories on Saturday at Centre.
The sophomore from Rochester, New York, began by winning the long jump in dominant fashion with a distance of 7.53 meters. Mobley's jump set a new meet record in the event and was good enough for a national "A" standard.
He then followed with a win in the high jump, hitting a height of 1.90 meters. Mobley also ran on the 4x100 winning relay team with Johnson.
Johnson and Mobley combined for 50 team points on the day, helping the Blue Raiders to a runner-up team finish at the invitational.
