Cold and Wind Can Not Stop the Invitational of the South

It was cold and windy all day at the Invitational of the South which did not slow down many.  Teams from Kentucky, Tennesse, and Illinois all competed with Owensboro taking home the girls title and Paducah Tilghman capturing the boys.

Amashi Kendall led the Lady Devils of Owensboro with victories in the Shot Put 39-08 and the Discus 122-00.  Zhanna Trimm (Lyon County) was named the outstanding Distance Runner of the Meet with her victories in the 1600 (5:46) and 3200 (12:22.)  Sharika Smith (Fulton County) was named the outstanding Sprinter of the Meet with taking four wins including two meet records in the 300 Hurdles (46.19) and Long Jump (18-03.)

Torey Parker of Paducah Tilghman led the Tornado to victory with individuals wins in the 100m and 200m dashes.  His times were 11.43 and 23.19.  Ryan Eaton of Greenwood won the 1600m and 3200m races and was on the victorious 3200 Meter Relay team.  He ran 4:34 and 9:52 in those events.  Brandon Walker of the home team Marshall County won the high jump (6-02) and long jump (20-06.)
