All Academic Honors for Lindsey Hinken

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Following an impressive season on and off the course, WKU senior cross country runner Lindsey Hinken earned all-academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Hinken became the fifth female in program history to be named to the team, with teammate Katie Lever receiving a spot on the squad last season. She was also one of just 20 women on the list to have a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

The Burlington, Kentucky, native was nearly perfect this season in her studies and performance, boasting an impressive 4.0 GPA in biology and securing four Top 25 times. In the final meet of the season, Hinken paced WKU for the third-consecutive race as she crossed the finish line at 21:31.1 to secure 22nd at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships.

At the C-USA Cross Country Championships, Hinken guided the Lady Toppers to a third-place finish as she was tabbed the Outstanding Senior of the Meet by grabbing fourth at the conference championship. She capped off the 2015 campaign with three straight Top 25 times and also posted a Top 10 finish in the season opener in St. Louis.
