Girls Field
Long Jump and Triple Jump
In the long jump, Taryn Milton of Texas had a strong first jump of 18-05.75 to take the lead and put her at U.S. #45. She held the lead until Kentucky state champion Alexis Gibbons connected on her last attempt with a leap of 19-00.5 to take the win.
U.S. #6 jumper Jamie Robinson of Illinois had a solid first jump of 39-11.25, which proved to be enough to secure the win over the rest of the field. Tennessee's Jordyn Lesh leaped 38-00 for second, which was good for U.S. #35.
High Jump and Pole Vault
Kentucky's Lilly Lowe dominated the field in girl's high jump. The U.S. #2 jumper on the year cleared 5-9, which is just an inch shy of her season best. Lowe was followed by Carly Hinkle (WV), Laurel Miller (WV), and freshman Shelby Tyler (IN). All 3 cleared 5-5, which is good for U.S. #50.
In the girl's pole vault, Carson Dingler of Georgia cleared 13-4.5, which was good for the U.S. #3 mark. Dingler's vault was a 20 centimeter Fieldhouse record and won the competition by well over a foot. She was followed by Kristina Leggas (KY), Kaylee Riely (GA), Nicole Bagby (OH), and Sandra Brown (IN). All four girls cleared 11-11.75.
Shot Put and Weight Throw
Meet favorite Kathleen Young of Illinois delivered in the girl's shot put with an almost 3 foot margin of victory. Her toss of 48-06.25 came on her first attempt and secured the victory for her. She was followed by Alycia Springs of North Carolina with her throw of 45-08, making her the U.S. #13 thrower this season. Amaya King took third with her 42-03.25 throw, which was good for U.S. #45.
Georgia thrower Kamryn Brinson delivered in a big way with her U.S. #2 weight throw of 58-00.25. Her throw eclipsed the rest of the field by 4.5 feet. That stat is even more impressive when you consider all throwers out to 7th place in the event are currently in the top 50 in the United States.
