I was working on a list of the Top 50 performances ever at the Kentucky State Track Meet for this weekend's 2015 finale when I noticed something was amiss. I pulled the list for the Girls 100 Meter Dash and North Hardin superstar Kianna Gray came up 1st on the list. I knew something was off because she barely missed out on that record last year finishing .01 off of it with a 11.81. Naturally I started searching the database to find out why the KY State Record Holder was not coming up. I went straight to record holder DeNasha Mondy's athlete page. The former Louisville Ballard star set the record in 2002. On her athlete page, I show a best that weekend of 12.04 with the little "h" beside it. That signifies hand-time. Straight to the original results I go on the site and then to the KHSAA for back-up. Holy Cow her 11.80 that day was truly a 12.04. (Find out why)
I have verified all the above with the KHSAA and Kianna Gray just officially broke the 100 Meter Dash Kentucky State Meet Record one year after the meet. This goes along with her overall records in the 200m and 400m Dash. She is also the Class AAA KY State Record Holder in the 100m Hurdles as well. Congrats on another Record!
