Girls
Hancock County has firm grip on this region with a solid possibility of placing five runners in the top seven to take the team title. Junior Sydney Young looks like the individual favorite from Hancock County as well.
Boys
Hancock County's boys are the clear favorite on the boys side as well. They well pack at the front to head towards a team title. The individual race should be a good one between George Marsch of Hancock County and Levi Owens of Cumberland County. Both have best times this season right at 17:20.
In what is the oddest set-up, Hancock County will drive past the Region 1 host site, Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro to drive to Elizabethtown for Region 2.

Girls
The individual race has two of the younger talents in Class AA with Savannah Kingery of Elizabethtown and Caroline Haas of South Warren. They have battled twice this year with Kingery winning both times. The gap was just 10 seconds on this same course earlier this season.
The team race will be a battle between John Hardin, Elizabethtown, and South Warren. John Hardin looks to have the slight edge on paper.
Boys
Jarrett Mattingly (Thomas Nelson) and Chas Warden (Elizabethtown) have gone head to head five times this season with Mattingly winning 3-2. Warden won the most recent battle at the Greater Louisville Classic but Mattingly has the biggest win timewise with a 35 second gap at the Hillbilly Run. Great race to watch with these two.
Warren East looks like the team favorite led by Aaron Osborne. He should be in contention for a Top 3 finish right there with Mattingly and Warden. The return of Jerrod Eleazer will help strengthen the team as they prepare for a trophy run at the Kentucky State XC Meet.

North Hardin's girls and Grayson County will both be mixing it up for the win on Saturday. North Hardin has Katie Gilbert up front who will contend for a Top 10 spot along with Hannah Corbin. Grayson has Hailey Stallings contending for a Top 5 spot.
Bowling Green's Brittney Hansen is the individual favorite to continue the team's individual domination over this region.
Boys
Here is another good one, make that one a great one. Central Hardin's Jackson Cooper, North Hardin's Robert Rupp, Grayson County's Bret Crawford, and Kyle Johnson of Bowling Green are all Top 20 runners in Kentucky making this a race that should be a thriller. All are seniors, so this is a matter of who wants it most.
Team battle, North Hardin and Central Hardin will go at it. Very similar teams in composition. Central Hardin won the last head to head at the Lincoln Trail Conference meet last week 51-59.
