St. Xavier Senior Brian Long Chooses Villanova

Brian Long, senior St. Xavier, has decided to run for Villanova instead of the University of Louisville as originally planned.  He follows in the footsteps of former Tiger Bobby Curtis by attending Villanova University.  Long received new exposure after winning the 3000m title at the nationally known Penn Relays.  He won the Class AAA State Cross Country Individual Title last fall and was a member of the State Champion 3200 Relay team last spring in track.

Brian has best times of 4:15 for the 1600 and 9:16 for the 3200.

When asked why he chose Villanova Brian said,

I visited late last week and really liked everything. Marcus O'Sullivan is
an amazing coach, and we feel his philosophy fits me perfectly. I stayed
with Bobby, which was a lot of fun and the team was accepting and
entertaining to be around. It feels great to be a part of a program with
the history and tradition that Villanova has. Beyond the athletics the
business school is ranked 12th in the country. In the end it seems like the
best place for the next four years of my life.
