On Tuesday of each week, KYtrackXC.com will release the Male and Female “Athlete of the Week” Awardees. This award is based on primarily performances from the past week. Keep in mind, this means that the awards will not necessarily be based on having the best overall performance in the state, but, for example, a big PR for the previous week would make an athlete a candidate. All athletes throughout the state are eligible.
This week’s awardees are based on the first two weeks of the season. Both hail from the largest city in the state, Louisville.

Female Athlete of the Week
Jazzmin Jeter - Ballard High School
This sophomore won the 100m Dash and 200m Dash at the Lenny Lyles Invitational. Her time of 25.16 in the 200m Dash is her personal best and the best in the state this season. Her time of 12.41 in the 100m Dash is third best in the state.
Male Athlete of the Week
Jon Erickson - duPont Manual
This senior ran in the Invitational 800m Run at the Mobile Challenge of Champions in Alabama. He ran a personal best time of 1:56.54. This took three seconds off his previous best time. He also won the 800m race at the Lenny Lyles Invitational and was on the winning 3200 Relay Team.
