Former Butler Star Tretez Kinnaird was part of the #3 ALL-TIME Distance Medley Relay yesterday for Indiana University. He split 1:49 in the 800 for the 3rd leg. The crazy thing is they are the #3 All-Time NCAA DMR, but #2 this year behind Penn State who has run 9:26.59.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Indiana track & field coach Ron Helmer wanted junior Rorey Hunter to get the baton and compete for the Hoosiers to set a fast time in the distance medley relay.
Hunter covered the final 1,600 meters in 3:58.1 to cross the finish line in 9:27.72 to win the event at the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame on Saturday.
In addition to setting an IU school record, the Hoosiers ran the second fastest time in the NCAA this season. The team of redshirt sophomore Jordan Gornall, senior Derrick Morgan, freshman Tre’Tez Kinnaird and Hunter also ran the fifth fastest collegiate DMR of all time.
Gornall ran 2:53.5 on the lead leg for the 1,200m and passed the baton to Morgan, who covered the 400m in 47.1. Kinnaird split 1:49.0 for his 800m and Hunter closed in 3:58.1.
Up next the Hoosiers compete in the Big Ten Indoor Championships Feb. 28-March 1 in Geneva, Ohio.
