Oh, what a day!!!! Saturday saw the record books worked over by the ladies of Kentucky. Super Frosh Gabby Karas punched her ticket to San Diego with a 4th Place finish at Foot Locker South with a PR of 17:07. That time smashed the previous #1 of 17:21 by Donna Combs at the then Kinney Nationals in 1984. Daviess County had a pair cement their places further at Foot Locker South. Whitney O'Bryan, Class AAA Champ furthered her PR with a time of 17:49 at FL South sitting at 10th overall All-Time. Her teammate Amelia Reynolds went sub 18 for the first time becoming the 15th young lady from Kentucky to do so with a 17:55 which is 13th overall. Caroline Grogan's 18:22 from FL South comes in at 33rd All-Time.
At Nike Cross Southeast, Bowling Green Frosh Madisyn Peeples rolled to a new PR time of 17:48.60 to finish as the 9th best ever which earned her a trip to Portland. Assumption's Emily Bean set a new best of 18:14 moving up to 26th.
Add to all of this Assumption winning NXN Southeast for the 2nd year in a row and qualifying for Portland for the 3rd in a row. It was just a great day for Kentucky. Keep it up ladies!
