Centre men 28th at NCAA D3 Nationals

Competing in the NCAA Division III Men\'s Cross Country Championships for the third consecutive year, the Centre College men\'s cross country team finished 28th overall out of 32 schools, Saturday, Nov. 18, in Mason, Ohio.

The Colonels, which finished 22 in 2005 and 24 in 2004, finished with a team score of 729. Calvin College won the overall team title with a score of 37, followed by New York University in second (92) and and Allegheny College in third (212).

Freshman Jason Parks (Louisville, Ky.) was the first Centre runner across the finish line, finishing the race in 29:01 to place 152nd overall. Sophomore Chase Wilson (Paducah, Ky.) followed in 158th place with a time of 29:05.

Senior Eric Hack (Louisville, Ky.), junior Nate Blank (Frakes, Ky.) and senior Anthony Lippert (Harrodsburg, Ky.) rounded out the top five runners for Centre. Hack was 190th with a time of 29:30. Blank finished in 224th place with a time of 29:55, and Lippert was 231st in 30:01.

Widener University\'s Macharia Yuot was the overall individual winner out of 279 total runners.
