Runner\'s Spotlight: Gordy Dooley

1) Favorite Course
Either the Horse Park because of the big meets or Tiffin, Ohio because it\'s a fast course with good competition.

2) Favorite Race
Lexington Catholic because of the shirts and because it is preview of state meet and all the top schools come.

3) How would you rate your XC season?
I would have to say that this is my best XC season so far.

4) You had a big win at Lexington Catholic. How did it feel to win the biggest race in the state of Kentucky?
It felt good knowing that for one day I was the fastest runner in Kentucky. I was just lucky enough to have a good race that day.

5) What colleges have contacted you?
Some of the colleges are Duke, Louisville, and Florida.

6) How would you describe the St. Henry boy's team?
I would say that we are a hard working team, but we also like to joke around a lot.

7) What did you learn from running with your two former teammates, Greg Robinson and Reggie Bieger, who now run in college?
I learned that in order to be a good runner you must work hard at practice, and they demonstrated this by pushing me every day.

8) How would you describe yourself as a runner?
I would say that I\'m a hard working runner who tries his best in every race.

9) What are your goals for the rest of the season?
Some of my goals are for my team to win State and to be one of the best runners in Kentucky. I also hope to post a good time at Footlocker Regional.

10) How does it feel to be one of the best runners at a school with so much cross country tradition?
It feels good because there have been a lot of good runners that have gone through St. Henry\'s and knowing that every year the XC team strives to be very competitive state wide.

11) What, in your opinion, has been your best race in track or XC so far in your career?
I would say the Lexington Catholic race. Even though it might not have been my fastest time, I thought I ran a very good tactical race against the best runners in Kentucky.
