KYtrackXC.com has an enormous statistical database with hundreds of thousands of races, times, throws, & jumps from the last 100 years of Kentucky track and XC. A typical visit to the site will show you some type of statistical list based on best times in many various forms. It could be a regional list, a top runner on a course list, or even a top 25 seniors list. Times, particularly fast times, get the runners, coaches, and fans excited. The runners who bust on to the scene, immediately improve the teams, and make some noise across the state get noticed by everyone.
But what about those runners who take the slow and steady approach and improve significantly? For every Patrick Gregory (16:43 Frosh PR) there is a Stephen Kinny (19:14 Frosh PR.) Now seniors, Gregory (AAA #1) has a 2013 best of 15:14 and Kinny (AAA #11) has a 2013 best of 15:58.
The list below shows the Top 30 ranked seniors based on times this fall. The 1st column shows their 2013 times, whereas 4th & 5th columns show their 1st 5K time ever, along with the grade it happened.

Watch out for those runners on the list below (2013 #80-100 Frosh Boys by Time) as they are the ones that will be filling out key spots in the upcoming years.
