Former KY Runners Chiles, Hartney, Perdue, & Bargblor Named Mid-South Conference Runners of the Week

 

PRESS RELEASES FROM MID-SOUTH CONFERENCE
 
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville's Eurodge Bargblor in the Mid-South Conference Track Athlete of the Week and teammate Timmy Pardue is the MSC Field Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
 
The weekly conference award is Bargblor and Pardue's first of the season and of their careers.
Bargblor recorded a pair of solo firsts and helped a relay team to a first place at the Berea (Ky.) Invitational on
Saturday to earn the conference's track weekly honors. Prior to Berea, he added a pair of top-10 finishes on Friday at the Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) Invitational.
 
The Bowling Green, Ky., freshman won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at Berea. He bested the 18-man field in the 100 after breaking the tape in 11.26 seconds. Bargblor earned another win with a time of 22.84 seconds in the 15-man 200 field.
Bargblor picked up his third win of the day helping the Tiger 4x100 meter relay team to a time of 43.72 seconds.
 
At the Mount St. Joseph Invitational, Bargblor finished second in the 31-man field in the 100 with a time of 11.19 and ended eighth out of 31 participants in the 200 with a time of 23.16.
 
Bargblor scored 39 of the Tigers' 140 points during the weekend.
 
Pardue won twice and finished second in a third event to earn the conference's field weekly honors.
The Eddyville, Ky., junior won the triple jump on Friday at Mount St. Joseph. Pardue's leap of 13.34 meters was just off his personal best in the triple jump.
 
On Saturday at Berea, Pardue set a personal best while winning the long jump with a distance of 6.70 meters. He backed up the win with a second place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 12.94 meters.
 
Campbellsville finished in sixth place Mount St. Joseph and posted a fifth at Berea.
 
 
 
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville's Keisha Chiles is the Mid-South Conference track athlete of the week and Lindsey Wilson's Katie Hartney is the conference's field athlete of the week, conference officials announced on Monday.
 
Chiles earns her second straight conference weekly honor and second of her career. Hartney picks up her first conference honor of the season and of her career.
Chiles won two individual track races and added a relay win at the Lindsey Wilson Invitational to earn the conference's track honor.
The Louisville freshman set school records with her wins in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Chiles broke the tape in 12.52 seconds in the 100 while winning the 200 in 25.49 seconds.
 
Chiles helped the Tigers' 4x100-meter relay team to a win with a time of 49.25 seconds.
Chiles added top-two finishes in a pair of field events -- long and triple jumps -- to finish with a team-best 37 points as the Tigers claimed the team title on Saturday.
 
Hartney recorded a win and two seconds during the Lindsey Wilson Invitational to earn the conference's field honor.
The London, Ky., junior won the discus throw with a distance of 35.82 meters en route to scoring 26 points for the Blue Raiders
Hartney added a throw for 10.46 meters in the shot put and a toss of 36.30 meters in the hammer throw to post runner up finishes in each event.
 
Her point total helped the Blue Raiders finish third overall in their home event.
