Corey Williams and Jacob McLimore of the 2012 Class AAA State Champion Bryan Station Defenders have signed to compete for the University of Kentucky next year. Both were individual State Champions last year. Williams is a jumps specialist who was the Long Jump State Champion with a leap of 22-09.50. McLimore was the 300m Hurdles State Champion with a time of 38.80.
Williams was the AAU National Runner-Up in the High Jump at 6-06 as well as the New Balance Nationals Emerging Elite Runner-Up in the Long Jump with a 22-07.25. McLimore was 24th in the 400m Hurdles at the AAU National Championship last summer.
Both have started 2013 off well with Williams leading the state in the Triple Jump and Long Jump. McLimore in second overall in the 60m Hurdles statewide.
