NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has honored Northern Kentucky University's cross country programs for their efforts in the classroom.

The NKU women finished among the nation's top academic squads and earned a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the 10th consecutive year. The Norse women boasted a team grade point average of 3.49 to attain the honor.

NKU runners Alisha Hansman, Janice Laker, Jerrica Maddox and Jenna Siemer each received All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA. Siemer earned the honor for the third time, while Laker received it for the second time.

It also marked the most NKU women's runners to ever earn the recognition.

The NKU men placed runners Drew Harris and Joey Mueller on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. It was the third straight year Harris has earned the honor. Mueller became just the second freshman in NKU history to earn a spot on the team.

Harris also received the recognition his freshman year.
