The 1st set of KYtrackXC.com Class A Boys State Rankings are below. Bishop Brossart comes in at #1 led by a balanced attack in which they have scored in every event but two (4x100m Relay and Shot Put.)
Class A Region 1 Preview
Below you will find the 100m times from 2013 scored like an XC race with only 4 scorers from each team. This is not exact science here, but it gives a very good idea of what to look out for in the 4x100m Relay this spring. The scoring part of the far side does not help as much as the Total Time line in the middle.
A sunny Saturday morning and a flat course set the stage for the St. Mary High School “Viking Cross Country Invitational”. Growing in attendance every year since its founding, the St. Mary Invitational once again boasted a record number of entries. This year the meet had 650 registered athletes, with 107 high school girls and 144 high school boys running in the varsity races.
The 1st Annual Murray Invitational was held yesterday on the estate of Chuck Jones, a local businessman. The picturesque course is ideal for cross country with many at the meet commenting how it very similar to the old campground course at the Kentucky Horse Park. The consisted of two varsity competitions and two middle school races with teams from the local area and a few outsiders.
New was the word of the day. It was the first time that McCracken County High School debut their cross country team since consolidating three high schools within the county. The team made their first appearance on their home turf, a course designed by both the boys and girls coaches to showcase the recently built high school. All first place finishers were also writing their name in the record books, setting records for the freshly formed course.
Coaches, athletes, parents, and fans the first set of KYtrackXC.com State Track Rankings are out with each class showing the top eight athletes in each event. The team rankings are at the bottom of each set of class rankings. These as of results released to KYtrackXC.com as of April 2nd. The season is still young with many more changes to come. The next set of team rankings will be out on April 16th.
Who is "Going for the Win" and in the "Team Hunt "?
KYtrackXC.com's brand new staffer, Meagan Pickett will be on-site at Noble Park tomorrow to cover the meet. She was an All-State Runner at Ballard Memorial High School who went on to compete at Campbellsville University. After graduating from Campbellsville she has returned to western Kentucky.
Going into the second weekend of this young season brings the annual Madisonville North Hopkins Invitational. This is the first meet annually that brings together teams from the Paducah area all the way up to Grayson County which is almost to Elizabethtown.

Murray, Ky., March 14----Catherine Claywell, Murray High School senior, signed a letter of intent with the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in a Murray High School Library Ceremony attended by MHS classmates, faculty and family.
The following will be added to the KTCCCA Hall of Fame on Saturday, January 7th in Lexington.

Normally there would only be one athlete of the week but with so many great performances I thought I would pass along some recognition to three of the top performers for each gender from Saturday.
The 2009 Kentucky High School Cross Country season opened up Monday night at the far most western campus in the entire state. Fulton County High School hosting the Advantage Quad Series for the fourth year was joined by Murray, Heath, Ballard Memorial, Graves County, and one Tennessee school Obion County Central.
Catherine Claywell, freshmen at Murray High School jumped 5-07 Tuesday at Marshall County High School.
The 2008 Kentucky High School Cross Country Season opened up Monday night with a meet at the very western tip of the state at Fulton County High School. Derek Perry (Heath) and Hillary Clapp (Graves County) won the Varsity Races. (Derek Perry at the Fancy Farm Picnic 5K)
