Meet Information

Grant County High School is proud to extend an invitation to your schools boys and girls cross country teams to participate in the 37th Annual Grant County Cross Country Invitational Meet. This years event will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Sherman Elementary School in Sherman, KY. If you are coming from the north, take I-75 to the Crittenden exit. Turn left and continue to the stop sign. Turn right onto south U.S. 25 and travel approximately 4 miles. The school entrance is on the right- look for the signs. Coming from the south take the Crittenden exit, turn right and follow the directions underlined above.

Again this year we will run one girls and one boys varsity race. If numbers should dictate, schools will be split as evenly as possible into small schools and large schools (varsity only) according to their current KHSAA alignment enrollment figures and an amended race day schedule will be published. Awards will be given to the top five- (5) teams in the varsity races, and the top two (2) in the JV, middle school, and elementary races. Individual awards for the top 20 in the elementary races will be given, top 25 in the middle school races, top 30 in the JV races, and the top 40 in the varsity races. A grand champion traveling trophy will be awarded to the team with the best combined boys and girls total team score in the varsity races.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Water will be provided at no cost to participants. T-shirts and spirit items will be available for purchase. Admission will be $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for students. Children not yet in school are free! All proceeds benefit the Grant County Cross Country Invitational and its participants. Best of luck to your school and teams during the upcoming school year!

We hope you will join us for one of the premiere meets in the state on our flat and fast course located on the campus of Sherman Elementary School, home of Grant County Cross Country. The course lived up to its flat and fast claim in its inaugural season and should again provide athletes with a venue very similar to what they will encounter at the KHSAA State Championships at the Kentucky Horsepark. We look forward to seeing you at the races!
