Meet Information
One of our objectives at Martha Layne Collins High School is to put the Oomph! back into Track & Field. So, we will be hosting an early season relay carnival, the Bullskin Relays. This meet is named in honor of the major creek that runs through Western Shelby County near Collins. Teams invited to this invitational will be within a reasonable proximity of Bullskin Creek. This meet will provide a unique opportunity for neighboring schools to have their athletes experience a relay carnival early in the season.
We are separating the field events from the running events on the meet schedule. This will make it better for the athletes, coaches and spectators by allowing them to focus more with less going on at once. There will be a special trophy award for the winners of both the boys and girls 4 X 100 relay - The Avery Farmer Memoral 4 X 100. This event is named in honor of former student Avery Farmer who ran on the Collins 4 X100 and lost his life before he could graduate. We will have a USATF Official at each event. We have all new equipment (hurdles, HJ and PV pits / standards, etc.) for this meet.
