Eastern HS is excited to invite 16 middle school teams to our brand new facility opening in the Spring of 2021! This meet is open to any middle school teams (grades 8 and under), but we are restricted to 16 boys teams and 16 girls teams by KHSAA and JCPS COVID Policies. The entry fee for each team is $70. One check may be issued in the amount of $140 for both teams (boys and girls together). Any fees not paid on/before meet day will be charged a $20 collection fee. Please make checks payable to Eastern Track Boosters and mail to Eastern High School c/o Mike Horan, 12400 Old Shelbyville Rd., Louisville, KY 40243.
Note, given our limit to 16 teams per KHSAA/JCPS expectations we are not planning to allow individual entries at this time. If we do not get 16 teams committed to the meet we will consider allowing individual entries.
We will accept entries until Tuesday, April 13th unless the meet fills before that.
Note that COVID protocols, district procedures, and capacity limits may demand that we split the meet into separate sessions for athletes and spectators. If entries and spectator numbers demand we will clear the stadium between sessions as noted below with a 30 minute break for cleaning and exit / entry.
Each team entered will be allowed 1 entry per relay race and 4 entries per individual event with the exception of the 100m Dash and the 800m run, which will allow unlimited entries. The goal is to allow all of your athletes to compete in the meet. If a team happens to have more than 4 proven high level athletes in an individual event please email firstname.lastname@example.org and give a rationale for which events and athletes.
Each athlete is limited to a maximum of 4 events. We will include 2 events (100m and 800m) where you can enter all of your newer or JV athletes. These events are unlimited entries so you can enter any developmental athletes. For all remaining events, teams are limited to 4 entries for each individual event and one relay team for each relay event. Events will not be broken up by grade. All ages will run together.
Admission will be charged to all spectators: $5.00 for adults. Concessions will be available.
We will post a virtual ticketing link here, all tickets must be purchased through the online service as this will also serve as our contact tracing tool.
Awards: Medals will be given to the top 3 places in each event and ribbons to places 4-6. There will also be 1st and 2nd place team trophies.
Entries will be submitted electronically via milesplit.
Competitor numbers will be assigned and emailed to coaches prior to the meet. They will also be available in the packets handed out at the coaches meeting. Every athlete, including open entries and relay legs must be entered in milesplit. Any teams adding athletes to the roster on meet day will be charged $10/athlete (in addition to the entry fee) but this convenience will only be allowed on a small scale. We will not allow entire teams or large groups of athletes to enter on meet day.
