Meet Information

Collins will be again be hosting the Border Battle which will be the 3rinter-school district rivalry in Kentucky state history. The meet will feature Team Shelby with Collins and Shelby County teaming up to battle Team Oldham with North Oldham and South Oldham. The meet will be run on the Bullskin Course off of US 60.

Race Schedule:

Girls Varsity 3K 5:30 PM (1 sections of 45 athletes)

Boys Varsity 3K 6:30 PM (2 sections of 45 athletes each with 2 min. stagger)

Concessions:  There will be no concessions.  Porta potties will be available, but athletes should come dressed and ready to race. 

Admission:  All spectators must have a voucher (completed contract tracing form) for admission.  Only two family members per athlete.  Vouchers will be distributed to coaches ahead of time.  All spectators will be required to have their temperature taken prior to admission.   A donation of $3 per spectator is suggested to help us defer expenses.

COVID Procedures Masks must be worn at all times by athletes and spectators.  Athletes must wear their mask to the start line and will take them off at the starters instruction and keep masks with them during the race, and put them back on after they finish the race.  Spectators should only congregate with their own family members or otherwise maintain the six foot physical distance between other spectators.  All spectators must remain at least ten feet away from all athletes at all times.  The meet is being held at a farm so there is plenty of room to spread out.  Please do not cross the course and stay out of the soybeans and / or high grass.  Water will not be provided, so please bring your own.  Athletes and spectators should leave after their race, so that we can minimize parking and contact issues.  

Awards:    There not be an awards ceremony.  However,  the traditional Border Battle Pumpkins will be given to the coaches of each of the boys' and girls' individual champions.

Directions: The Blue Meadow Farms - Bullskin Course is located at approximately 99 Joyes Station Rd., Shelbyville, KY 40065 (map quest may take you further down Joyes Station Rd. - just remember to take a right on the farm road at the Blue Meadow Farms / Bullskin Course sign). Joyes Station Rd. is just off of US 60 between Shelbyville and Simpsonville and is approximately one mile west of Collins H.S.  Be careful of using GPS.  It can put you on the other end of Joyes Station Rd approximately 12 minutes (drive) from the course location.  Just remember that the course is right on US 60 between Shelbyville and Simpsonville.

If coming from the West,take I-64 E and exit on Veechdale Rd. (exit 28). Turn R at end of Veechdale Rd. on to US 60 going East to Shelbyville. Go approximately 3 miles on US 60 (cross Bullskin Creek!) then turn right on Joyes Station Rd. Take the first farm road on the R. Go to the end of the farm road.

Bullskin Course Site Map (Team home base, spectator parking, rest room, etc.):   Teams will have designated areas in which to meet and set up home base.  No tents are allowed.
