Meet Information
Harlan County High School proudly extends an invitation to attend the Black Bear Invitational. The course is located on the campus of beautiful Harlan County High School. With COVID guidelines still being developed, there may be many changes to the schedule/race distance. The intent is to compete at all levels, however, at the very minimum both JV and Varsity races will be contested. The schedule below is subject to change due to athlete safety and the approval of guidelines for competition by the KHSAA. The number of teams will be limited to adhere to guidelines.
The entry deadline is October 1, and entries may be done online via MileSplit:

11:00 am: Boys MS 3000m, 7 entries per team. 20$ team/5$ individual
E.R. Doc Gray Division:
11:45 am: Girls Varsity 5000m, 7 entries per team. 50$ team/5$ individual
12:35 pm: Boys Varsity 5000m, 7 entries per team. 50$ team/5% individual
Bob Howard Division:
1:35 pm: Girls Varsity 5000m, 7 entries per team. 50$ team/ 10$ individual
2:25 pm: Boys Varsity 5000m , 7 entries per team. 50$ team/10$ individual
Awards:
Elementary: Medals for 1 -- 20 (boys and girls)
Middle School: Medals for 1 -- 20 (boys and girls)
Varsity: Medals for 1 -- 25 (both divisions)
Medals to be given out in the chute, team awards will be given to winning coaches at conclusion of the meet. There will be no awards ceremony due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Medals are customized (as they have been in previous years) so we are limited to the number listed for each event only.

Conveniences:
Concessions will be available at the race. Both food and drinks will be sold. Indoor restrooms are available. All proceeds support HCHS Cross Country.
Parking:
Vehicles will be directed to park at the race site. All spectators will enter through the lower entrance (baseball field entrance) as the course runs by the main entrance. There will be a 5.00 entry fee for spectators. Buses should enter through the lower entrance at the HCHS campus (baseball field gate) for the unloading/loading of athletes.
Spectators: ALL spectators will be required to wear masks and adhere to COVID-19 guidelines for the safety of our athletes and coaches. Spectators must also have temperature screenings and complete screening forms prior to entering the facilities. Spectators must also remain behind the ropes at all times. The grass field is for coaches and athletes only.
