Newport Middle School Track & Field Meet
Date: Wednesday, April 25, 2018
Time: 4:30PM (Coaches meeting at 4:15 at the finish line)
Location: Newport Stadium behind Newport High School located at 900 East Sixth Street, Newport, KY 41071. Our facility is very close to the Ohio River and I-471s Big Mac Bridge.
Cost: $90.00 per team. (Boys & Girls are 2 separate teams.) B or C teams an additional $25 per team. This must be designated on your Hy-Tek entries. There is no fee for parking, but admission for adult spectators is $5/person; student admission is $3
Entries: Only 2 athletes per team per event and 1 relay team per event. MAXIMUM of 4 events per athlete (including relays). Entries will be done on MileSplit. Questions to Rose Chalk. Her email is : rosezac727@aol.com
Entry Deadline: Sunday, April 22, 2018 @ 11 PM. We will have a limit of 12 boys teams and 12 girls teams.
Scoring: 10-8-6-4-2-1.
Running Events: Regular order of events being hand-timed. All heats are final. 4x800 M Relay, 100 M Hurdles, 100 M Dash, 4x200 M Relay, 1600 M Run, 4x100 M Relay, 400 M Dash, 800 M Run, 200 M Dash, 1600 M Relay. The 3200 M Run and 200 M hurdles will not be contested.
Field Events: All field events will be finals-only format with 3 attempts. After the 4:30 start, subsequent events will be on a rolling schedule.

Directions to Newport Stadium:
If coming from the South through Grant, Boone or Kenton Counties, take I-71/75 across the Ohio River into Cincinnati, get in the RIGHT lane and follow the Columbus signs as you get across the river ONCE YOU CROSS the river, follow the signs for I-471 to return to KY via I-471 (the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge is also called the Big Mac Bridgeyellow arches).
In a passenger vehicle, the best exit is EXIT 5: make a right onto Dave Cowens Drive, then right at Riviera Drive (Party Source is on Riviera Drive), right onto 6th and then make a U-turn into the schools driveway about 1000 meters up youll see the Athlete Complex on your right (park as close as you can).
If travelling by Bus, the best exit is Exit 4 off I-471 (Memorial Parkway/10th Street). At the end of the exit turn WEST toward the setting sun into Newport ..get in the right lane and turn RIGHT on Monroe Street, then RIGHT onto 6th Street and after a few blocks, the school will be on your right. Take the drive in front of the school on the right and bare right, after 1000 feet youll see the Athlete Complex off to the right. You can park the bus under the highway.
