NORTHERN KY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Dear Coach:
The format for this year's Championships have been established based upon the amount of daylight hours that will be available. Twenhofel Principal, Dr. Shannon Gross, is very worried about darkness and liability. Therefore, we are having a 3 race schedule. Dr. Gross has consented to allow us to start at 5:15 p.m. this year to make this work. Remember, this is a meet for individuals not running in the Varsity Regional. This gives these individuals the opportunity to finish up their season and possibly win an award. The only exception would be if you need to run someone in order to get their fourth high school meet in order to qualify for the Varsity Regional. In that case, we ask that those runners not go through the chute and take an award away from somebody else.
When: Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 5:15 p.m.
Where: Twenhofel Middle School, 11846 Taylor Mill Rd. (Route 16), Independence, KY
Races: 9th-12th grades will run together, but scored by grade. Only freshmen teams will
receive a team trophy.
5:15 p.m. Girls Varsity 5,000 Meters
5:45 p.m. Boys Varsity 5,000 Meters
6:15 p.m. Boys & Girls Middle 3,200 Meters
Cost: Frosh Boys/Girls (9th grade only) $50 per team (5+); $10 per individual (4 or less)
Soph./Jr./Sr. $5 per individual (unlimited)
Awards: The awards will be passed out in the chute except for the team trophies.
Medals to the top 3 individuals in each race.
Ribbons for places 4-10.
First place team trophy: Freshman division only, Boys & Girls Middle
