DERBY ELEMENTARY CLASSIC

MEET LOCATION: the Assumption HS track facility, the "Assumption Green", is located at 4500 Champions Trace Ln, at the corner of Champions Track and Newburg Rd just south of the I-264. ENTRY FEES:
Entry fees, for early entries - received on or before 11:59pm Thursday, March 26:
$40 for each Boys team
$40 for each Girls team
or $8 per individual
there will be an additional $10 per team fee for roster files not submitted using Hytek (note: coaches with more than 30 athletes may be asked to pay a higher fee)

Entry fees, for late entries - received after 11:59pm Thursday, March 26:
$60 for each Boys team
$60 for each Girls team
or $10 per individual
there will be an additional $15 per team fee for roster files not submitted using Hytek (note: coaches with more than 30 athletes may be asked to pay a higher fee)

Checks may also be brought to the meet as well, but no team will be allowed to compete until they have paid for their entries.

ENTRIES: unlimited entries in each event per team. Coaches submit entries by emailing a Hytek Team Manager roster file that includes the names and grades of each athlete they expect to compete in the meet to Coach Barry Haworth at bmhaworth@louisville.edu

Coaches: note that we are only asking for a Hytek roster file, not a Hytek entry file, as you do not have to enter your athletes in any event in advance. We only need your roster for this meet.

ENTRY DEADLINE: the absolute entry deadline is 11:59pm on Friday, March 27 we cannot accept any entries after this deadline.

DIVISIONS: athletes on each team will compete in one of two divisions, K-3rd grade or 4th-5th grade. Athletes may run up, but can only compete in one division for the duration of the meet.

AWARDS: no team awards, but we will be awarding ribbons to the top finishers in each event. The number of awards per event will be determined by the overall expected entries.

ADMISSION: there will be a $5 admission fee at the gate for all spectators and nonparticipants, children 12 years old and younger are free.

CONCESSIONS: concessions will be sold at the meet by the Assumption HS track team. They would appreciate your patronage.

RULES OF COMPETITION:
1. Running events will follow a rolling event schedule that is subject to change if weather conditions dictate.
2. Athletes will receive competitor numbers, and we will need coaches to ensure that competitor number worn by the athlete in the meet matches the athlete's assigned competitor number.
3. Athletes should compete in their appropriate division, either K-3rd or 4th-5th. Any athlete who competes up, can only compete in the higher division for the duration of the meet (i.e. no athlete may compete in both divisions during the meet). Athletes may not compete down.
4. Long jumpers will receive 3 attempts. Long jump will be conducted cafeteria style/open pit, rather than in flights. We will explain this process at the 1:00 Coaches Meeting.
5. Athletes will report to each event and be assigned to a heat/section at check-in. Coaches will be asked to submit relay cards for each relay event that identify the athletes on each relay.
