Kentucky Dream Mile 2012

Louisville, KY
Hosted by St. Xavier

Meet Information

On Friday, May 4, 2012 at 8:00 PM, St. Xavier High School will be hosting the 3rd annual running
of the Kentucky Dream Mile for Kentuckys elite boys and girls high school (grades 9-12) distance
runners.

The purpose of this event is to bring together, on one night and at one venue, the most elite
high school milers from throughout the state, under the most optimal of conditions, at a time of
the season to produce times worthy of national recognition.

The qualifying standards are high, but that is in the hopes of enabling the most talented
Kentucky high school distance athletes to achieve, as a group, what many outside of Kentucky
feel isnt within our states level of ability to have several of our elite runners reach a national
standard of excellence.

Entry Standards:

1600 meters - 4:25 or Mile: 4:27
1600 meters - 5:20 or Mile: 5:22

Boys:
Girls:

All reported times must be run outdoors during the 2012 season (through and including
meets run April 28) and must be able to be verified. Any time that cannot be verified will be
disallowed.

If you have a verified time that is within 5 seconds of the standard or a time previous to the
qualifying window that falls within the standard and would like to be put on a provisional status
list, you are welcome to submit an entry. The games committee also reserves the right to add
any at-large participants they feel will be competitive.

There is no entry fee for participants

We will fill the fields with a maximum of 16 runners per race. We will also seed alternates for
each race in the event that someone needs to drop out. We plan to rabbit the races for 800
meters at an agreed upon pace, predetermined by participating coaches and/or runners.

We will be accepting entries starting today, Monday, April 2, 2012 and running through Sunday,

April 29, 2012. We will announce the fields for the races on Monday, April 30, 2012. For those
of you traveling over two hours, if youd prefer not traveling back the same night; we will make
arrangements to house you with one of our families after the race.

ALL runners must be entered. Dont assume that meeting the standard is your entry into the
Dream Mile. A coach, not parents or athletes MUST submit all entries, as this event will count
against your team(s) meet total. Enter only via email to Dave Carter at davec@sheehy1.com
Any questions should also be sent to the same email address.
