I believe the Official Girls AAA 3200 has the wrong girl listed as last in. I believe Natalie Kleier from Notre Dame ran a 12:26:20 in region 5.

@roadrunner The 24th spot placed second in her region which makes her an automatic qualifier for state. The top two runners from each region automatically qualify, then it is the next 10 best times.

Ok so Lafayette's Javonte Butler ran a 11.6 in the 100m he is not on there and the 4x1 team ran 45.34. Please explain this? Those are not the next fastest 10. Do you guys only take a certain amount from each region?

@CoachMontLHS In Region 1 and Region 4 alone, a total of 18 guys ran faster than 11.6

@professor I understand that. But rules are rules. His time made it. So I dont understand why it is not followed thru no matter if he is last. This past weekend he ran an 11.1. A state qualifier is a state qualifier.

@CoachMontLHS I believe mistakes are supposed to be submitted to the KHSAA. Here's something from an email they sent out today: We ask that schools contact us immediately at trresults@khsaa.org with any and all corrections upon review of the entries. The deadline for changes will be Monday, May 19th at 12:00pm.

@CoachMontLHS They take the top two from each region and then the next ten. If you see someone listed with a slower time than 11,6 or 45:34 in the 4x100, it's because the individual or team that ran that slower time was an automatic qualifier from their region. You can check the results.

@CoachMontLHS The automatic qualifiers for the boys 100m were: 1-8 11 17 18 22-24 The 10 next fastest times (out of all regions) were: 9-10 12-16 19-21 Looks like 11.46 was the cut off. All times must be ran at regionals as well.

The automatic qualifying standards for the 100m and 4x100 are 11.09 and 43.09, respectively. These times must be run at the region meet as stated earlier. 2014 KHSAA Track and Field Automatic Qualifying Standards

Purple Striders has it right. Javonte is a talented sprinter for sure but unfortunately this is a case some of the automatic qualifiers actually ran slower times than he did but get in because they finished first or second in their region. If he had run that 11.10 at his region meet he would have qualified but the 11.60 he actually ran that evening unfortunately didn't make it.
