Cowboys have strong showing at Pre-NCAA meet

LOUISVILLE – David Rooney ran a 23:20.7 for a seventh place finish at the NCAA-Pre National Meet here Saturday morning to held lead McNeese to a team finish of 16th in the 40-team field.
 
The Cowboys, ranked fourth in the latest USTFCCCA South Central region poll, tallied 471 points and finished two places behind nationally ranked William & Mary.  McNeese also finished two spots ahead of Lamar, who had 517 points
 
Jarret LeBlanc was the second Cowboy to finish the 8k race, running a 24:00.6 for a 46th place finish.
 
Colorado took the team title with 72 points that resulted from individual finishes of fourth, 11th, 12th, 22nd, 23rd, 27th and 35th places.
 
Other individual finishes for McNeese had Alex Bruce-Littlewood with a time of 24:33.9 for 108th place, Danny Cliffe with a 24:39.0 time, Alex Evans with a time of 25:07.5,Stephen Kerr in with a 25:31.5 clocking, and Nicholas Kiprono with a 24:33.9.
