INDIANAPOLIS – Bellarmine University senior
Jordan Parayil (West Chester, OH/Lakota West) was voted as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this year. Jordan's first place individual finish at the Gibson Family Invite on Saturday led the team to an impressive first place team finish at the squad's last regular season event.
Parayil covered the 8k course with a time of 26:14 and finished in first place individually topping second place runner and teammate
Dominic Perronie by seven seconds. His pace led the Knights to a team victory and helped land four other Bellarmine runners in the top ten finishes at the event. The Knights ousted 13 other teams en route to the victory. Parayil currently holds the sixth fastest 8k time in the GLVC, and has been named the GLVC runner of the week twice this year.
Parayil and the rest of the Bellarmine squad will now prepare for the GLVC Cross Country Championships on October 22.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included William Jewell's Shane Giannetti, Northern Kentucky's Joey Mueller, and Drury's Case Van Arkel.
