INDIANAPOLIS – Bellarmine senior Jordan Parayil (West Chester, OH/Lakota West) was voted as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Parayil and the Knights raced in the National Catholic Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Friday. 

Parayil set the pace for the Knights as he finished 14th overall out of 255 runners and completed the 8k race with a time of 25:09. Parayil's time ousted several Division I runners and earned him the new 8k top time in the GLVC.
Parayil helped lead the Knights to a 1st place team finish out all Division II schools, and a 4th place overall finish. The 16th ranked Bellarmine squad will be back in action again on October 1 at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Southern Indiana's Michael Jordan, William Jewell's Shane Giannetti, and Northern Kentucky's JJ Webber.
