Fort Mill junior David Willis (13th 4A State) finished eighth overall in the intermediate boys 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:30.60 at the 2005 AAU National Cross Country Championships, held Nov. 3 in Rock Hill.
Clover Blue Eagle teammates Kristen Thomas and Samantha Coburn finished 12th and 25th, respectively in the young women\'s event. Coburn and Thomas, both seniors are competing in this Saturday\'s USATF Junior Olympics National Championship meet in Smithfield, RI. Last season Coburn and Thomas participated in the Junior Olympics meet in Schaumburg, Ill.
