This Week's Nominees:
Lucy Gaunt, Sacred Heart (Kentucky): A 5K clocking of 18:57.05 was good for first among 103 finishers at the Ryle Invite, with 22.0 seconds separating first from second. The mark also stands as the third-fastest in MileSplit's database at Ryle since 2020, a span covering 972 athletes.
Sadie Parks, Frederick Douglass (Kentucky): The Southern Harrier Classic came down to a 37.7-second gap, with a 19:55.41 clocking over 5K enough to cross first out of 92 finishers. It was a clear separation from the rest of the field on the day.
Tessa Begley, Rockcastle County (Kentucky): Covering the 5K distance in 21:18.84 at the Berea Community Invitational, the win came by nearly five minutes over the next finisher in a 14-runner field. The margin, 284.9 seconds, left little doubt about the outcome.
